Where it all began...
I grew up arond music all my life and had a newfound appreciation for the gift and love music I acquired after seeing my grandad perform.
My grandfather, the late Elvin Shepherd has remained one of my ULTIME musical influences in my life. In addition, my dad and sister are also up there. I don't yet have any sound files of his yet (as they are currently being remastered) but when I get them I will be sure to add them on here so you can see just how "off da chain," he was as a sax player. Just in the fact that he taught and mentored the likes of Miles Davis and Grover Washington Jr., and was credited on countless jazz albums doesn't say enough. "Shep" or "Daddy," as we would call him was a wonderful grandfather, father and friend to so many of us in our family.
Aside from his stellar showmanship and talent-he kept a lasting smile on my face as his humor reverbed off of such comics like Bill Cosby. His goofiness, wit and talent always brought a smile to my face and his lasting legacy will forever stay in my heart. To my wonderful grandaddy, I will never, ever forget you or the music you left behind!!!
Love Always,
CE CE
