DRIVING TO MY DESTINATION...

As I tuned into the radio, I came across a sermon from a Pastor Malcolm Wild from Sound of Truth Ministries (http://www.soundtruthonline.com-Sermon aired today 1/2/2014). He was preaching on trusting in God's will and putting God first. That if only we would take time when we pray and plan our day to seek God's will for our lives that it would make our lives a lot easier. While our willingness to do this, at times, is no easy task, when we surrender our will to God and trust Him to move, we lift the burdens up off of our lives to try and figure things out-instead of trying to measure up to everything and everyone else that doesn't really matter.
Just as driving in this weather I had to re-route and go slow at times, I realized this same re-routing was symbolic of what I faced in my own personal life when attempting to reach my destination. Sometimes in life (during a storm or even when all is well) we have to take a step back, go slow, and seek the Lord for direction when the way seems unclear. Realizing this principle and allowing Him to direct us in every area in the first place can make the way much more clearer.
WHICH-A' WAY DO I GO!?
At times, we spend so much time and energy creating plans, formulating our thoughts and trying to live to please people including ourselves, But the real question of the day is...
What does God think of us and where does He want to take us!?
I mean if you really think about it, its MORE work to please others and to keep up with our own agenda than it is to serve and follow after a God who just loves and accepts us just as we are! A God who only desires to have a relationship with us in serving and loving Him! God, Who only wants to better us, LOVE us, and establish us-As He already has a GREAT plan already laid out for us-thats even better and more rewarding than anything we could ever imagine!
One of the things I learned last year, to apply to my life in general-was to learn to step aside and allow God to direct my paths to my destination instead of trying to make my own way, or make sense of things. Me, who was always, in a way a perfectionist, and hard on myself-always needed to have things orchestrated, planned out a certain way; learned that a lot of my plans, (though they may have worked out ok in the end), eithier didn't work out as I had hoped, weren't God's will, or would have turned out much better if only I would have put my entire trust in His will for my life.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In ALL your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
-Proverbs 3:5-6
I would have saved myself from a world full of worries and problems if I would have just sought His direction in the first place! If we only learn to acknowledge Him instead of always seeking our own desires or others impositions, then we can save ourselves the unnecessary headache of always trying to figure things out! Afterall its not for us to figure out but instead to place in the Master's hands! Learning to let Him carry you through takes all the worry, fear and anxiety out of every area of your life giving you true freedom and peace within!
While there is nothing wrong with making plans and having goals (as thats another blog-lol ;), when we give our entire life's plans for Jesus to see us through, all the rest will take care of itself!
Take a moment to read this powerful scripture taken straight from the mouth of Jesus who told us not to worry, care or fret about the cares of this life...Instead for us to TRUST in Lord to meet our needs.
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
-Matthew 6:25-34
DIRECTING OUR PATHS...
God's word promises that if we seek Him first, that everything else will be taken care of. Thats a PROMISE! And might I add God NEVER breaks His promises! ;) His eye is on the sparrow and if thats the case...
Don't you think He will surely take care of your needs!?
God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8), but I have found that once those things that were once so important to us, don't become as important anymore-thats usually when He gives them to us for He knows we won't put it before Him and at that point we have fully trusted Him.
When you learn to step aside and surrender it all to God- Putting you life entirely in His hands is the most rewarding, sure-fire thing. Not entrusting it in the hands of our mother, father, sister, brother, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, or friends, career, money, etc...But learning to place everything in Jesus hands-Because HE IS-Reliable, Unchanging, Infalliable and can do EXCEEDINGLY, ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL that we could ask for or think! (Ephesians 3:20) He not only works it out; But when He does work it out its ends up being the ABSOLUTE, BEST plan for you even if it doesn't seem to make sense at first.
Surrendering your will to God, Putting your entire TRUST in God, and casting your cares on Him and allowing Him to DIRECT your paths will help relieve the stress and pain from your life of you always having a need to figure things out. Make it easy on yourself this year! Give you heart and life to Jesus and He will work it ALL out for you! ( http://www.christinaelise.com/#!faith/c4ic)
I encourage you all in this New Year 2014 to allow the Lord Jesus to order your steps as you follow his lead...Follow the Saviors footprints...and if your still not sure what to do...Then my friends, allow Him to CARRY you!
He will lead you into the ULTIMATE plan of your destiny because He has the VERY best path laid out for you!
God Bless & Love,
CE CE ;)
